LEESVILLE, La. -- It is almost that time again. Mark your calendar. On August 1 the sixth annual Cafeteria Conversation and Back to School Resource Fair will be held from 5-7 p.m. at Parkway Elementary School, located at 3585 University Parkway, Leesville, Louisiana.
The event is a one-stop experience for school age children and their families to meet leaders and school staff from the Vernon Parish School District. It is an opportunity to learn what resources and programs are available locally.
Free school supplies will be distributed by Operation Homefront (Back-to-School Brigade) for those military families that register ahead of the event. Supplies are limited. Cafeteria Conversation is held before the start of school as part of the Education Initiative. This
is an effort led by Fort Polk Progress, in partnership with JRTC and Fort Polk, area schools and stakeholders, to ensure students receive a quality education in our communities-which serve a large population of military families-giving them tools and resources for academic excellence and success.
