Saving Christmas event set for Dec. 3
Ray-Pec families! Here's an opportunity to provide children with holiday fun and a Santa visit experience, while also giving back to the community.

The Ray-Pec High School National Honor Society is presenting the Saving Christmas event from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, at Ray-Pec High School, 20801 S. School Rd.

NHS members, along with other volunteers, will be wearing costumes and are planning holiday activities for children. (Pictures are from last year's event.)

If you are able, please bring items to donate. Most needed are non-perishable food items, coats (new or gently used), warm clothes, and toys. Donations will be distributed through several organizations, including Ray-Pec Caring About Nutrition (CAN), Panther Closet, Toys for Tots. Read more
School Board candidate information meeting
An informational meeting to learn about the qualifications, responsibilities, and time commitment involved in serving as a Board member is scheduled from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29, at the Ray-Pec Innovation Academy, 21001 S. School Rd.

The candidate filing period is open from Dec. 6 through Dec. 27 for the April 2023 election. Each year, two or three board positions are up for election.

For 2023, the seats up for election are currently held by Paul Coffman, Ruth Johnson, and Kim York.
