Saxony News

Welcome to the August issue of Saxony News!

Currently I believe the tallest structure in Pflugerville is the crane at the Downtown East project across from HEB. It can be seen all over the area. See below.

Please note that the city has returned to the twice a week lawn watering schedule. See below for more information.

Please continue to save plastic grocery bags and drop them off at Cilia's porch at 1009 Pine Creek Drive. The food pantry at First United Methodist is now serving more than 500 families per week.

Stay safe and happy, Saxony!

Pool Removal

If you have not driven on Elm Drive this week, you probably did not see that Developer Brad Marshall and his team have completely removed the pool, restroom building, parking lot and basketball court. The two lots are now ready for the development of two single family homes which will happen later this year.

Community members have indicated that this is a bitter-sweet event, knowing that Saxony HOA had not other choice, but remembering the good times experienced at the pool and amenities area.

Street Repair

You may have seen one of the two portable signs on Applewood Drive that indicate that the reconstruction of a number of streets in Saxony and Willow Creek is scheduled to begin shortly. No exact date is available. The map below indicates the streets scheduled for major repair.

New Pflugerville Development

--Construction on Downtown East is underway, bringing new opportunities for residents to gather, connect and enjoy enhanced public spaces. The project, which began in December, includes a multigenerational recreation center designed for fitness, wellness and community activities. A new City Hall will provide modern amenities to better serve residents. The civic plaza will feature a stage, outdoor gathering spaces and nature-inspired play areas. The extension of Main Street will improve accessibility and further connect the growing community. The picture is an older view of design, so not sure if it is exactly accurate.

These additions will reshape downtown, creating a space for residents to enjoy for years to come. To see renderings and stay updated on the latest progress, visit pflugervilletx.gov/downtowneast.
