Starting January 15 and running every Friday at 7:00pm (CST), you and the whole family can enjoy complimentary virtual workshops from our ethno-cultural performers and Folklorama members! Programming includes education, Métis beading, Pow Wow Drum lessons, live performances, and more!

The Songs of the Pow Wow. Sounding the Drum.
Pow Wows are a celebration of Indigenous traditions, families, and culture. They are social meetings used to honour heritage and connect the young and the old through dance, Drumming, and chants. Have you ever wondered about the Pow Wow Drum and the beautiful songs/chants that are performed? This workshop will teach you the different songs that are performed when sounding the Drum from Winnipeg’s own Indigenous artist and performer, Walking Wolf Ray Co-Co Stevenson. For the Love of the Bead
Learn the art of Métis beading with Prairie Owls Beads own Julie Desrochers! This workshop includes a history on how Desrochers developed her craft and the Métis beading basics, including tips and tricks to help you create your own Métis flower! Team Folklorama Re-Launched!
2020 was a difficult year for so many in our community. The Folklorama Operations team has been talking to you, our family and friends, and we are pleased to announce that in 2021 Team Folklorama will be re-launched as a volunteer community support team!

Whether it's lending a hand at a food bank, celebrating Pride, cheering on runners at events, or giving back to our community in other ways - Team Folklorama will be there when it's safe to do so.

Join Team Folklorama, choose which events you want to participate in, and let's make a difference throughout our community as one Team Folklorama.
