Christian Formation

Parish Minecraft Realm Now Open
Did you know we have a Minecraft Realm for parish kids and youth to play on together? A Realm is a special world in Minecraft in which people can enjoy fellowship, and maybe learn a little something about our faith, from PCs, game consoles (e.g. Nintendo Switches), and mobile devices. Think your child or grandchild might like to join in the fun? Get them registered for the Realm easily using this form. Want to participate but don't have Minecraft yet? You can request a free copy right here. Questions? Just ask Aaron Davis.

Outdoor Formation Opportunities 3/21 & 3/28
Coming up in just a couple of short weeks we have two opportunities for outdoor, COVID safe formation in the generously offered yard of the Martin family (3615 Hawthorne Ave, Richmond, VA 23222) on 3/21 and 3/28. We will be gathering at 3:00 p.m. for a half-hour time of song, activities, and prayer for kids with Aaron in the back yard and fellowship for parents with clergy in the front yard. Interested families must sign-up in order to attend. If you are interested and haven’t signed up yet click here, and if you have any questions just ask Aaron Davis.

Winter Wellness
As the days are lengthening, and we enter into Daylight Savings Time, Winter is finally almost over. If you haven’t been able to attend or participate in the calls you can still use the tools to care for your Body, Mind, and Spirit. They are available on our website here

Thank you to Estelle Brodeur and Caroline Coffil for helping to curate these resources and prompts during the Winter of 2020/21. You wise women have helped many through this Winter Wilderness.
Outreach

Women’s History Month at ECM
On Friday March 13, 2021 at 2:00 pm instead of our regular healing service, we will honor the life of The Right Rev. Barbara Harris, the first Female Bishop consecrated in the Episcopal Church. Bishop Harris died on March 13, 2020 right as the pandemic was beginning and we will remember her with prayers and intercessions as have been written by her Diocese of Massachusetts. In honor of her life and ministry we are raising up voices of women in the church. There are 5 orders of ministers in the church - laity, deacons, priests, bishops and the presiding bishop. During the week of March 15-20 we will share 5 sermons from women in all the orders. Listen to these sermons and celebrate the voices of women being heard in the church. Women were the first to proclaim the resurrection- let us continue to listen for their proclamations in 2021 and beyond. You can follow along on Instagram or the ECM at VCU Facebook page.
Earth Day 2021
Did you know that John Muir, one of the leaders in the conservation movement in the United States, is one of our Episcopal saints? Help us remember Muir and the work of environmentalists the world over by participating in a James River Clean-up. We would like to get a team of 15 individuals together for April 24, 2021, from 10:00 am-12:00 pm. If you are interested in joining the team sign up here. Sign-ups for joining the team end on March 24th.
