Say Hi to Lottie + Snood! 🐾

Spring is certainly in the air! Although you can't quite smell the flowers yet, the good news is that you can order them at aarcs.ca/spring-bloom! 🌷 Our wildly popular Bloomin' for Spring flower fundraiser is back with options for pick up or delivery. Once again we are selling a variety of vibrant, beautiful and delicious hanging baskets that are ready to hang! Proceeds go toward helping animals like little Lottie and Snood!

Little Lottie found herself in a dangerous situation this past weekend which put her in the hospital. An incident occurred with a much larger and more powerful dog over a bowl of food. Lottie is just a pup, just 13 weeks old, still learning social cues, but unfortunately the altercation escalated quickly resulting in a serious puncture around her right eye. 💔

With infection settling in quickly, Lottie needed emergency care. The swelling is quite prominent and an abscess already formed making it difficult to see the extent of the damage and whether or not her eye can be saved. At this time, we are trying to get the infection under control so she can be reassessed by our medical team.

Lottie could sure use your love right about now! 💓 She's got a tough recovery ahead for a little pup, but we know that no matter the outcome of her one eye, she'll pull through!

If you have been following us on social media, you might have seen Snood just before the new year as this little one came in with a sibling during an outreach/rescue run. We knew right away that Snood was out of the ordinary, but we didn't realize at the time just how extraordinary Snood is! 😻

A unique kitten right from the start, Snood presents with congenital abnormalities which are rare and reflect in his physical appearance. On another note, Snood has a heart murmur that seems to be improving as he grows even though his growth is stunted due to his condition.

We are happy to report that Snood is doing well in foster care considering all the challenges his state introduces as well as a stubborn case of rhinitis/upper respiratory which has been lingering. A very curious case indeed and despite all this, Snood is super playful and the happiest little kitten. Hobbies include stealing lettuce from the rabbits, stealing popcorn from his foster mom and knocking everything off the coffee table! This 5-months-old has quite the zest for life.
