~RECIPE OF THE WEEK~
Scallop ceviche is so delicious! Try out Trena's Ceviche Recipe!
One cup lemon juice bottled one cup lime juice bottled ... zest of a lemon or lime and squeeze and leave the rind in the bowl.. red onion sliced thin , jalapeƱos if you like them, salt and pepper , tomatoes diced , white onion sliced thin, one cup pickle juice or jalapeƱo juice , handful of cilantro chopped , 2 tablespoons of any hot sauce of your choice And 2 pounds of scallops .... Put all of that into a sealed container for a few hours or overnight and add diced avocado before you eat it. I serve it with scoops chips. If you don't have fresh avocado I have used guacamole and put a large batch of that in the center and people can scoop some of that first before they get some of the scallops into their ship. We make it every time we've come to Steinhatchee and we eat it on the boat while we're collecting more scallops!

DONATIONS ARE NEEDED IN THE STEINHATCHEE COMMUNITY!

The Sowers of the Seed Food Pantry will be open August 11th - 15th, 2021 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm to accept any donations you may be able to assist with.
Due to the incredible amount of rain we have had for the last month, coupled with Tropical Storm Elsa and then more rain and weather systems expected this week, the already saturated ground has no place for the water to go but, up and over the banks of the Steinhatchee River.
Homes that lie upriver have received flooding and as the water recedes, folks will need a helping hand with obtaining cleaning supplies and just basic everyday items.
If you would rather make a monetary donation, please send it to P.O. Box 315, Steinhatchee, FL 32359. Also, Amazon orders are accepted but, please send those to Donald Campbell, 222 Sugarhill Rd., Steinhatchee, FL 32359.
For more information or questions you may have, please contact them at 850-295-3787.
There are a people in the community who need support, prayers and a helping hand with getting cleaning products and with the tedious cleanup they have ahead of them.
Any help you can provide would be a truly grateful gift to these folks. Thank you!
