Parishioners have received emails claiming to be from St. John's clergy. They may look official, containing a signature, the church address, and even a Bible quote, but they all end the same way: they ask for a request or favor, saying that I can't be reached except by email. Once you reply, they then ask for gift cards or money. It's a common scam. Please report these emails as spam and delete.
Neither Deacon Steve nor I will solicit you in this way. We communicate using our stjohnscentreville email addresses and through this ConstantContact list. Look carefully at the actual email address used, and not only the name that comes up in your inbox. And if you have questions, you can always contact us at the church.
Faithfully,
Kevin
