I have also included some tips to get you hitting the ground running. Please save this email and refer to the links frequently in the next weeks to learn more about your business.There is a lot here. Don't be overwhelmed. Review at your own pace.

Getting Started Tips

Welcome into the Scentsy family! I am Sherri Gibson, Your Superstar Director. I am so excited you are taking a new journey in your life with us.  I encourage you to hit the ground running. Dream in 2013! 

 

Although I have not meet many of you, yet, I am  in your up line. I am excited to have you part of our team. A little about me. My Scentsy journey began in September 2007. I did not believe I had time for a business. I was a mother, wife, PTA Board member, softball coach, and worked full time. I discovered my dreams did not have time for me not to. I quickly discovered, like you will,  that working a few days/nights per week I built a successful, and fun business.  

 

While I encourage you to ask questions of your sponsor and Director, please know that I am always available to help. Do Not Hesitate to reach out to me. I do this full time, so contact me any time. Your Success is My Motivation!!! That's my motto, but more importantly, its my belief system and the fundamental approach to my business.  

 

What a great time to join Scentsy, the fastest growing network marketing company in history. I know some of you joined Scentsy Fragrance, Grace Adele or Velata, or all of them. This information is for all of you. 

 

I want each of you to LAUNCH your business. You host your own party. Invite everyone you know, even if it has been a while. Invite them even if they live away from you. They can participate on-line. You want to introduce your business to EVERYONE. Don't prejudge who will buy. You love the products, they will to. Your focus is to get your party guests to host a party for you. Once you start getting more parties, you are exposed to new people who will also host more parties. Scentsy products will sell themselves. Focus on getting more hostesses, that will keep your business going. I have attached information on how to launch your business and a video on how to do a party. Don't be scared. We will help. Ask your sponsor or director to help with your first party to get you going.  

 

A quick note on our new business model of multiple brands under one company.You can recruit for any of the three brands. You get paid on the sales of everyone in your down line, whether in your company or not. BUT, you can only sell the brand(s) you signed up for. One company, three brands, but one downline, one check on all three brand sales.

Here are a bakers dozen of TIPS to getting started.

 

1)        Daily- Check your email. I often send contests, tips, and news via email, as does Scentsy home office. I encourage you to go to your personal workstation daily (login from your personal website). Scentsy provides quick announcements to Consultants on your workstation.(See below for more details) 

 

2)       Under the "resources" tab of your workstation, there are a number of flyers, brochures, sample business cards, and Scentsy logos to get you started. Just play around and find what you like.

 

3)       Print out business cards to hand out until your kit arrives.

 

4)       Print out labels (type "label" in the filter in Resources). You will want to sticker all your catalogs, bars, and warmers so your customers always have your contact information to re-order from you, and not find another consultant.

 

5) Watch the training videos. In your workstation, under the top icon of "Training Center" there are great videos on a wide variety of topics to get you started, and more advanced videos after you get going. I wish we had them when I started. (See below for quick links and more details) 

 

6)       When your order product, NEVER do it as an "individual" because that is for customers only, and does NOT pay the free and 1/2 price hostess credit. Put your orders in as a "party" to make sure you get the free & 1/2 price credit, which begin at only $150 (just like a regular "party")  Learning to order is simple, but some practice is helpful. Here are instructions for entering Order- Steps  and an expanded Placing Guest Order .   

 

Be sure and take any half-price items from selected "combine and save" options, like a warmer and three bars for half price ($22.50) , or a purse  for $40), or  a velata warmer and three chocolates for half price (. Check the "combine and save" section of the Scentsy and GA catalog to see which ones qualify, Velata does not have this option.  

 

Don't forget, if you hostess does not take all the free and half price items, you can take them. This is a cheap way to build some stock to show off. BUT, you must do it when you order. enter Hostess Rewards You also get the perpetual party reward. Every order has  a "hidden" half price item. The idea is for one hostess to attend a party being hosted by a guest at her orginal party. This is her reward for attending and talking about how easy hosting was, how much fun she had, and how much stuff she got for free or half price. YOU can take the item if the orginal hostess does not attend. 7)         I urge everyone to do a "launch party" and invite everyone you know, or have an acquaintance with. There is a "List of 100" people to help you get started identifying people to invite and introduce to Scentsy. Find the ideas in resources tab under New Consultant Start-up guide p. 10. Just realize, that you need to invite more than just your best friends and family. Casual acquaintances like Scentsy as much as the rest of us. (see below for a video explanation)  

 

8)       Tell everyone how excited you are to have started your own business. I encourage you to email everyone in your email list (one version is  Sample Email), and mail an invitation for your launch party to everyone you know, even casual acquaintances. Don't forget to post messages and links on your Facebook, MySpace, and Twitter.Even if they cannot attend your launch party, they will know you are a Scentsy consultant. Later when you follow-up with them in-person or on the phone, you will have greater success. Always set up an on-line party for every party you do so out of town guest can order from it and count towards your hostess rewards.  

 

I have attached a simple brochure describing the Scentsy Family Advantages to inform you about Scentsy Family, and to permit you to easily explain Scentsy for recruiting purposes.

 

9)        Scentsy Fragrance has a special "Shooting Star" special Shooting Star Flyer for you in your first 15 days, beginning the day you enrolled. By ordering $500.00, you can buy 10 warmers ($300 value) for $200. I have enclosed a flyer with all the details. Scentsy Fragrance Shooting Star Velata Shooting Star 

 

10)       Plan out for your first 70 days. Scentsy has the "Scentsational Start" program for your first 70 days by which you can earn free product and receive special recognition for selling and recruiting in your first 70 days. Statistically, 90% of those that make Level 3 will become a Director.Scentsational Start Tracker  

 

You will be paid on the 10th of each month via funding your Scentsy Visa credit card. Here are some instructions for getting it started. Compensation Card  You can also manage the accounts to send your money to. Pay Portal Management 

 

11)       We have a Facebook site where I post flyers, information, thoughts, tips, and ideas. go to Sherri Gibson's Sooner Scentsations Team 

         

 We have a team website which I encourage all of you to visit, download flyers and training materials from. 13) Finally, HAVE FUN! Scentsy is wonderfully flexible. Do it your Way. Call me if you ever have questions, need ideas, or just want to share the moment.

PARTYING 101 BASICS

We are a party company. It is loads of fun.You know parties, you have likely attended many. You build your business with parties.  While many do fairs/events, fundraisers, and internet sales, these should be done to get leads for new parties/recruits. At each party, you are looking for hostesses to do your next party. Scentsy products will sell themselves. Your job is identifying your next hostesses.

Navigating Your Workstation

Your workstation is your communication hub to order product, get Scentsy news, track your performance/sales/recruits. I recommend you save your consultant ID and password in a safe place you can frequently access. VISIT IT OFTEN.
