This week, Lakeshore Recycling Systems ( LRS), the village's new waste and recycling hauler as of May 1, began dropping off new carts to residences. Residents who did not select carts through the web portal or customer service team before the March 18 deadline will receive the default sizes of 96-gallon for waste and 64-gallon for recycling. If you received the standard size/default carts and requested something larger or smaller after the March 18 deadline, LRS will still happily exchange the delivered carts. To select preferred cart sizes, complete the online form or call LRS Customer Service at (844) 633-3577.
The new carts should contain a cart hanger connected to the inside of the recycling cart lid and featuring the new LRS 5-day service schedule map. Residents can access and view an interactive version of this new service schedule map on the village's website.
Residents are reminded not to use the new LRS carts until May 1. Please continue to use the Republic Services carts through the week of April 25-29. During their final week of service, please leave the old carts out curbside for Republic to collect after service.

Residential Pool, Hot Tub Permit Requirements Reminder
|
As a reminder, a pool permit is required for all permanently installed and temporary/seasonal pools. Several factors including placement, lot coverage, setbacks and pool barriers are required by code to improve safety. The village has prepared a Resource Guide to highlight several of the requirements for the installation of pools and hot tubs. The Pool Permit and Barrier Checklist is also a good place to start for a general understanding of the multiple requirements required by code that are reviewed and inspected as part of the permit process. If you are interested in a pre-planning or pre-construction meeting with a Building Division staff member at your home, contact Scott Flanagan to schedule this optional consultation.
