LRS SERVICE IN SCHAUMBURG BEGINS MAY 1
On May 1, Lakeshore Recycling Systems (LRS) becomes the village's new provider of curbside waste, recycling and yard waste for Schaumburg homes.
Residents who do not receive their new LRS carts by noon today (April 29) or those with questions about getting larger or smaller sized carts should contact LRS Customer Service at (844) 633-3577.
As a reminder, please continue to leave the old Republic Services carts curbside (day and night) until they are collected. Schaumburg is a large community, so it may take more than one week for Republic to collect all of their carts.
For the latest information about the LRS transition, including a link to access an interactive map of the new 5-day service schedule, visit the village's website.

VOICE YOUR OPPOSITION TO PROPOSED RAILROAD MERGER
The Canadian Pacific Railway and Kansas City Southern have filed an application with the Surface Transportation Board seeking authorization for the Canadian Pacific to acquire Kansas City Southern – a proposed merger that is expected to increase freight traffic on the Milwaukee District West rail line and have a detrimental impact on the quality of life.
The Village of Schaumburg is concerned about the potential impacts from the proposed merger on our community. The village is working with other concerned communities as part of the Stop CPKC Coalition to oppose the railroad merger as proposed.
If you would like to express your opposition to the proposed railroad merger, the Coalition has developed a letter that can be sent to your federal elected officials. Although the letter is prewritten, your personal stories are welcomed and encouraged. The Coalition website also provides an option for you to compose your own message stating your concerns about the proposed merger to state and federal leaders. For more information, visit the Coalition website.
