VILLAGE STAFF ASSEMBLES HOLIDAY CARE PACKAGES FOR SENIORS
The village's Employee Engagement Committee (EEC), comprised of village staff from various departments, helped organize a holiday care package collection and distribution campaign of needed personal items to brighten the holidays for local seniors. Each department collected donations of personal items such as toothpaste, band-aids, lotion, batteries and snacks. Then EEC volunteers, in partnership with the village's Senior Services division, helped assemble over 100 festive holiday gift bags with the donated items to be distributed to senior clients at The Barn, 231 S. Civic Dr.

Thank you to Senior Services Manager Marina Lvovich and all participating village staff for your time and generosity this holiday season.
2021 YARD WASTE COLLECTION ENDS DEC. 16
One week remains for residents to take advantage of the village's yard waste disposal program provided by Republic Services. Yard waste collection will run through Thursday, Dec. 16. A special collection period for Christmas trees and greenery will be available throughout the month of January.

Below are a few helpful guidelines to properly dispose of your debris:
  • Smaller brush and yard waste can be placed into biodegradable yard waste paper bags not to exceed 30 gallons in capacity or 50 lbs. in weight.
  • Larger brush piles must be bundled using garden string or twine. The bundle size is restricted to 4 feet in length, 2 feet in diameter, and no heavier than 50 lbs. Branches cannot exceed 3 inches in diameter.
  • Branches or stumps larger than 3 inches in diameter cannot be placed in the landscape waste bags; they must be handled with regular refuse. Weight is limited to a maximum of 50 lbs. Excessive amounts will incur a charge or require an alternative disposal method.

For additional garbage and recycling information, visit the village's website or dial 311 in Schaumburg.
