HAPPY HOLIDAYS FROM THE VILLAGE OF SCHAUMBURG
Happy Holidays Schaumburg! Please enjoy this festive holiday video celebrating the season with music courtesy of the Schaumburg Youth Symphony Orchestra's recent Presto! Holiday Concert at the Al Larson Prairie Center for the Arts.

As a friendly reminder, the Robert O. Atcher Municipal Center, 101 Schaumburg Ct., and all village administrative offices will be closed Friday, Dec. 24 and Monday, Dec. 27 in observance of the Christmas holiday. Garbage and recycling collection will not be affected. Residents who require assistance can still dial 311 to reach a customer service representative at any time or visit the village's website for additional information on programs and services.
SCHAUMBURG'S PROPOSED CIP UTILIZES GRANT FUNDING TO REDUCE LOCAL COSTS
The Village of Schaumburg is proposing a $205 million multi-year Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). The plan includes $47 million in improvements slated for the next fiscal year that begins May 1st.

The CIP is a comprehensive plan that sets the direction and priorities for the village’s capital improvement projects and associated funding for the next five years. The CIP is updated annually and represents the village’s commitment to sustaining its roadways, infrastructure, and community facilities in an appropriate state of repair. The plan is expected to be considered by the Village Board at its January 11 meeting.

“A well-maintained infrastructure is a fundamental component of what makes a good community great,” said Village President Tom Dailly. “Repairing and revitalizing our roads, sewers and other structures continues to be a priority for the village because these critical systems allow us to provide a high quality of life to those who live and enjoy our community.”

DRIVE SOBER OR GET PULLED OVER
With holiday festivities approaching, the Schaumburg Police Department announced that it will participate in a statewide impaired driving awareness campaign now through Jan. 3.

If your celebration will involve alcohol or other impairing substances, please plan ahead for a sober ride home and remember to buckle up – it’s the best defense against an impaired driver. Keep these tips in mind to help ensure a safe and joyful holiday season:

  • Before you head to the party, designate a sober driver or plan to use public transportation or a ride-sharing service to get home safely.
  • If you see an impaired driver on the road, pull over and call 911.
  • Have a friend who is about to drive impaired? Take their keys and help them get home safely.
  • Always buckle up!
