VILLAGE SET TO TRANSITION TO NEW WASTE HAULER THIS SPRING
At its Feb. 8 Village Board meeting, Schaumburg officials approved a 5-year contract to select Lakeshore Recycling Systems (LRS) as the village’s new garbage and recycling hauler. The decision to change haulers was driven by costs after a competitive bid process. LRS will continue to provide the same high-quality refuse collection and superior customer service that residents experience today.

Beginning in May, LRS will take over the weekly collection of trash, recycling and yard waste at residential properties in Schaumburg. There will be impacts to collection days as LRS plans to operate on a new 5-day service day schedule. LRS will contact residents with more details about their scheduled collection day and cart change-out information.

For the latest updates and information, please stay tuned to the village’s website and other village communication channels this spring.
STATE OF THE VILLAGE ADDRESS
This week, Schaumburg Village President Tom Dailly delivered his annual State of the Village address to Schaumburg's business community at the Schaumburg Business Association's Good Morning Schaumburg event at Chandler's Chophouse. President Dailly provided the audience of about 130 people with a summary of Schaumburg's successes in 2021, including high marks for the village in the new National Community Survey, continued progress at 90 North, and a preview of additional investments and enhancements coming to the village in 2022 and beyond.

ELECTRICAL AGGREGATION UPDATE
The village recently approved a new agreement with Eligo Energy for the Electrical Aggregation Program which will run through November 2022 at a rate that will match the monthly ComEd Price-to-Compare. A select number of residents were automatically enrolled in the new program when it took effect in December. This month, Eligo will be mailing letters to enroll a select number of additional accounts in the program. An example of this letter is available to view on the village’s website.

Residents who receive the letter from Eligo can choose to be enrolled in the Electrical Aggregation Program or return the enclosed opt out card to remain with ComEd. All residents will be paying the same rate regardless of whether they are supplied by Eligo or by ComEd. For more information about the village's Electrical Aggregation Program, visit the village's website or dial 311 in Schaumburg.
