VILLAGE SEEKING FEEDBACK FOR NEW TIF DISTRICT
The Village of Schaumburg is seeking input from building owners, businesses and residents to determine potential improvements for its new TIF District. The area is an industrial park largely bound by Wise Road, Mitchell Boulevard, southern village boundaries, and Rodenburg Road. Your input will help identify program opportunities, challenges and common themes across the industrial park. Questions pertain to the appearance of the industrial park, the vision for the park and its businesses, and which infrastructure improvements are critical for the overall success of the industrial park.
Create an account on Engage Schaumburg, the village's new community engagement platform, to take the survey and share your feedback on the overall vision for the park, its businesses, and the necessary infrastructure improvements for the area. For more information, visit the project webpage or email Matt Frank.

The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) reports around 64% of U.S. households own at least one outdoor BBQ, grill or smoker. On average, 10,200 home fires are started by a grill each year. Annually, 19,700 patients visit the emergency room with injuries caused from grilling. Thermal burns are the most common injury with over 9,500 reported.
The Office of the State Fire Marshal advises everyone to take these steps to help ensure a safe summer filled with everyone’s favorite grilled foods:
- Propane and charcoal grills should only be used outdoors.
- The grill should be placed away from the home or deck railings, and out from under eaves of your home and overhanging tree branches.
- Keep children and pets at least three feet away from the grilling area.
- Keep your grill clean by removing grease or fat buildup from the grills and in trays below the grill.
- Never leave your grill unattended.
- Always make sure a gas grill lid is open before lighting it.
- Check the gas tank on your propane grills and hoses for leaks each time before using.
- If you smell gas while grilling, immediately get away from the grill and call the Schaumburg Fire Department.
- Make sure charcoal grill coals are cool before disposing of them in a metal container.
For more information about grilling and grill safety, visit the NFPA website.

Dog owners are reminded of the importance of keeping their furry friends safe in our community. Make sure your pet has a collar with a valid rabies tag and identification on it in case your dog gets loose. It is encouraged to have your pet microchipped for easy identification purposes. Village ordinance requires pets to be leashed when off their property at all times. In addition, pet owners are encouraged to be respectful of their neighbors and are required by village ordinance to pick up waste and dispose of it properly. Failure to comply with village ordinances can result in fines issued. Additional animal information is located on the village's website.
