CELEBRATE POLICE & COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS AT NATIONAL NIGHT OUT
The Village of Schaumburg is pleased to announce its participation in the 39th Annual National Night Out event, a night where the public is encouraged to meet neighbors as well as some of Schaumburg’s first responders and village officials and raise awareness about crime prevention and safety in the community.

This year's event takes place from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 2. National Night Out is designed to heighten drug prevention and crime awareness, generate support and participation in local anti-crime efforts, and strengthen neighborhood spirit and police/community partnerships.

Twenty events are being held in Schaumburg neighborhoods organized by local homeowners associations, apartment communities, and Neighborhood Watch groups. This includes two “village-wide” events from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Schaumburg Barn, 231 S. Civic Dr., and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Meineke Park, 220 E. Weathersfield Way. Registration for some activities at these events may be required. Residents are also encouraged to turn on their porch lights that evening to light up their neighborhoods in support of National Night Out.

For more information, please contact Paula Diaz or dial 311 in Schaumburg.
DART SCHEDULING CHANGE
To provide more efficient scheduling to those who use the Dial-A-Ride Transportation (DART) service, the village recently approved a change to the program that allows riders to call a day in advance to schedule a ride. Riders are encouraged to book trips a day ahead of time but will still be allowed to call and request a same-day trip based on the availability of the routes. The goal of the change is to allow more flexibility in scheduling and manage driver and staffing challenges while making bus routes more efficient. The service will be monitored to ensure any changes are meeting their goal and staff will continue to evaluate the program to best serve the community. Rides can be scheduled anytime between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and between 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Saturday. To schedule the most convenient reservation, please book any Monday trips on the Saturday prior. To schedule a ride using DART, call (847) 352-8097. For more information, visit the village's website or dial 311 in Schaumburg.
NEXT BRUSH COLLECTION CYCLE BEGINS
The village’s 2022 brush collection program continues on Monday, Aug. 1 offering the final collection cycle for each zone until the program ends in September. The collection zones are rotated in the pickup schedule each year.

Residents are asked to follow the collection schedule listed on the village’s website. No appointments are necessary. This program is open to single family residences only; contractor-generated brush will not be collected.

Brush must be placed at the curb by 7 a.m. on the Monday of your scheduled week. Branches cannot have root material attached and are to be neatly placed curbside with the cut ends toward the street. Unorganized or tangled brush piles will not be collected. For more information, visit the village's website or dial 311 in Schaumburg.
