FINANCE DEPARTMENT RECEIVES AWARD FOR ANNUAL COMPREHENSIVE FINANCIAL REPORT
The Village of Schaumburg's Finance Department was recognized at the June 25 Village Board meeting for receiving the Government Finance Officers Association Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for its annual comprehensive financial report.
The certificate is the highest form of recognition for excellence in state and local government financial reporting. An impartial panel evaluated the report and determined that it meets the program's high standards and effectively demonstrates a "spirit of full disclosure" to clearly communicate its financial story.
Each year, the Finance Department spends many hours incorporating new Governmental Accounting Standards Board pronouncements, preparing workpapers, meeting with stakeholders, and responding to auditor requests. This was the 39th time that the village has received this recognition.
The village prides itself in producing high quality, transparent, and award-winning documents. A full list of awards and accolades the village has received can be found on the website.

Summer Street Sweeping Begins July 8
The next round of street sweeping services, provided by LRS CleanSweep, will begin Monday, July 8. The program covers more than 400 miles of village roadways between the months of March and November. The sweeping will be conducted in various cycles for different areas, including residential streets, the Woodfield area, and industrial areas within the village.
The street sweepers are designed and engineered to remove debris and residue from the street surface and curb line. A build-up of leaves and/or yard waste congests sweepers and risks sweepers catching fire. Please follow the yard waste preparation guidelines on the village's website.
