BoDeans will headline the main stage at 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 3. SCHAUMBURG GIVES MID-YEAR ECONOMIC UPDATE
On June 13, Director of Economic Development Matt Frank gave Schaumburg's Mid-Year Economic Update at the Good Morning Schaumburg event hosted by Schaumburg Business Association.

Schaumburg remains a desirable place to live with strong interest in residential development, with Summit Grove, Northgate at Veridian, The Quin, and The Lofts under construction. Coventry Woods will soon start construction on its 12 single family lot development near the Schaumburg Post Office.

Schaumburg’s industrial market remains hot with a 2.5% vacancy rate for the 10.8 million square feet of space. Over $52 million has been invested in Schaumburg industrial properties in the last three years. Much like the rest of the country, the office market remains soft with a vacancy rate of 29.4%. However, there has been $66 million invested in office spaces in the last three years including buildouts by Ally Financial, AVI SPL, Citigroup, Experian, and Network Distribution. There are several medical office developments by DULY, Lurie Children’s Hospital, and Northwest Community Healthcare making an additional $60+ million investment into Schaumburg over the next year.

The commercial market continues to be strong as Schaumburg businesses generate $3.8 billion in retail sales annually. There has been $165 million invested in retail spaces in the last three years including Carvana, Costco, Diamonds Direct, Kohl’s, Sweetgreen, and Tony’s Fresh Market. New businesses coming soon include Andretti Indoor Karting and Games, BJ’s Restaurant, Dave & Buster’s, First Watch, Joon Boo Market, McAlister’s Deli, Nirav, Patrick Genesis, Steinhafels and Primark. SHAKESPEARE IN THE PARK RETURNS JUNE 22
The Village of Schaumburg partners with Schaumburg Park District to host Shakespeare in the Park, an outdoor performance of Shakespeare's Love's Labour's Lost. The beloved comedy follows studious noblemen who forbid themselves from romantic relationships in the pursuit of knowledge, only to find such a vow isn't easy when faced with Cupid's trials. This family-friendly production is performed by Goodly Creatures Theatre, which has been voted Best Live Theater in Kane County two years in a row.

Patrons are welcome to bring picnic dinners, lawn chairs and blankets. Food and beverages will also be available for purchase from Mario's Pizza, Schaumburg Young Artist Program Concessions, and the Prairie Arts Foundation bar. As a reminder, pets are not permitted on the grounds during outdoor events. For more information, visit the Prairie Center's website.
