NEW ONLINE CONSTRUCTION DASHBOARD
The village has created a new online construction dashboard for the public to access the latest information on the status of Capital Improvement Plan projects currently under construction or soon to be under construction in Schaumburg. This easy-to-use tool features an interactive map with filters that allow users to further refine results by street name, project type, or phase. Regular updates can be viewed in the project updates column, and every project can be clicked on in the map to reveal its description, category, priority, and contact person for questions. In addition to viewing the dashboard, users can sign up to receive construction updates via email. For more information on construction in the village, visit the website or dial 311 in Schaumburg.

Wondering why crews seemed to be working again on newly-paved Summit Drive and Meacham Road recently?
The village recently conducted road preservation spraying on these segments of roadway, which is a technique used to prevent weathering and surface deterioration. A reclamite product (looks pink in color) was sprayed on these surfaces and then a fine sand was applied to blot up the excess product. This measure is designed to extend the useful life of the recently renovated roadways so they last longer. For more information on this process, visit this website or dial 311 in the village.
RECENT & UPCOMING OPENINGS AT WOODFIELD MALL

CYCLIST AND PEDESTRIAN SAFETY
The village would like to remind cyclists and pedestrians to stay alert and be mindful of motorists to help prevent accidents from occurring.

  • Know and follow all traffic safety laws. Review the 2023 Rules of the Road.
  • Follow crosswalk regulations. Wait until all vehicle traffic is stopped prior to crossing.
  • Never assume a motorist, pedestrian or cyclist can hear or see you. Proceed with caution. Cyclists should use horns, whistles, and bells to signal to others they are approaching.
  • Cyclists should ride in designated bike lanes or on bike paths. If riding on the roadway, always travel with the flow of traffic and ride on the right side of the road, as far to the right as practical and safe. Electric scooters are permitted on village bike paths.
  • If you bicycle or walk on the sidewalk, be careful as you pass driveways and other roadway openings and intersections. Watch for vehicles pulling out or turning.
  • Consider wearing neon or fluorescent colors or other lighted items to remain visible. Install reflectors and/or lights on your bicycle and avoid riding at night.
  • For everyone's safety, do not text while walking or riding a bike, wear earbuds or headphones, or use any device that reduces your situational awareness.
  • Cyclists should state their intentions by using hand signals (see graphic above).
