SEPTEMBERFEST MAIN STAGE ACTS ANNOUNCED
The Village of Schaumburg is pleased to announce Septemberfest’s main stage entertainment lineup with Phillip Phillips, Plain White T’s, and 7th heaven scheduled to perform as headliners of the popular three-day festival that will be taking place Aug. 31 through Sept. 2.
Former “American Idol” winner Phillip Phillips will headline the main stage at 8:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31. Phillips was launched to fame in 2011 following his melodic radio hit “Home,” which was followed by the release of his full-length album, "The World From The Side Of The Moon." Phillips’ success continued with additional album releases "Behind The Light" and "Collateral.” Recent releases include “Love Like That,” a song dedicated to the unconditional love he has for his wife and child.
On Sunday, Sept. 1, Plain White T’s will headline the main stage at 8:30 p.m. delivering unforgettable pop rock anthems. Plain White T’s has amassed more than 2.7 billion total global streams, earned two Grammy nominations, and collected several Platinum-plus and Gold certifications across their impressive catalog. Their signature single "Hey There Delilah" went quadruple-platinum, topped the Billboard Hot 100, and earned the pair of aforementioned GRAMMY® nominations in 2008 — for "Song of the Year" and "Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal."
Septemberfest will wrap up on Monday, Sept. 2 with headliner 7th heaven that takes the stage at 7:30 p.m. Known for the famous "30 Songs in 30 Minutes" medley of songs from the 70's and 80's, 7th heaven has been an entertainment staple for 39 years. The band has toured the world, playing the U.K., Amsterdam, Panama, Mexico and all over the United States. 7th heaven has charted #1 on the Midwest Billboard Charts three times and has had seven major radio hits.

CENTEX AREA APPROVED FOR TIF DISTRICT
The Schaumburg Village Board recently approved a proposal to designate the Centex Redevelopment Project Area as a new TIF District. The overall goal of this redevelopment project area is to reduce or eliminate conditions that qualify as “conservation areas” for improved parcels, “blighted areas” for unimproved parcels, and to provide the direction and mechanisms necessary to redevelop the Centex Industrial Park as a vibrant industrial and commercial district. This includes revitalizing the 573-acre industrial park through infrastructure and property improvements, strengthening the area's economic and employment base, and enhancing overall quality of life within the project area.
Village staff had been working with consultant SB Friedman over the past nine months to assess the project area and evaluate its eligibility for a TIF District. The report concluded the area is eligible for designation as a “conservation area” for improved land and a “blighted area” for vacant land, per the Illinois Tax Increment Allocation Redevelopment Act. A May 14 Public Hearing was held, followed by formal approval of the TIF District at the May 28 Village Board meeting. For more information on the Centex TIF District, please visit the village's website.

With the warmer temperatures and schools out for the summer, Schaumburg residents are reminded not to block on-street bicycle lanes when putting out their garbage carts on their regular collection day. Carts should not be placed in the street. When putting carts out at the curb, handles should be facing the property with the lid opening toward the street. Arrows are marked on the lid of the cart to remind residents which way the cart should face to ensure LRS trucks can easily pick up the carts to dispose of its contents. For more information on how to dispose of bulk items, establish an appointment for the collection of white goods, and other information related to garbage and recycling collection, visit the website or contact LRS directly by calling (844) 633-3577.
