Upcoming ComEd Tree Trimming

In the upcoming months, ComEd will be performing tree trimming along Irving Park Road and other nearby streets. These vegetation management activities are a key component of ComEd's maintenance program to ensure electrical reliability since vegetation contact with ComEd equipment is a leading cause of power outages. Qualified line-clearance workers contracted by ComEd will be performing the tree trimming work with supervisors in close contact to ensure work is performed properly. For questions or concerns on vegetation maintenance performed by ComEd, call 1-800-EDISON-1 (1-800-334-7661).

Village Holds Emergency Preparedness Workshop

The village held an Emergency Management and Cyber Safety Awareness workshop on March 20 for the community with over 60 participants. Led by the village's Emergency Manager, Police Department personnel and Information Technology management, the workshop guided residents and other community members on ways to stay safe from internet scams and online predators, how to prepare for emergencies, the village's Special Needs Registry and Oasis Program, and what Emergency Management does for the village. If you missed the event, copies of the presentations are available on the village's website.

March is Severe Weather Preparedness Month, which makes now a good time to plan ahead, especially with the severe weather common in Illinois. Take some time to prepare by following the tips on the village's website.
