RESIDENTS ENCOURAGED TO SELECT NEW LRS GARBAGE & RECYCLING CARTS BY MARCH 18
The Village of Schaumburg recently approved a 5-year contract selecting Lakeshore Recycling Systems (LRS) as the village’s new garbage and recycling hauler. Service with LRS will begin May 1.
In the meantime, Schaumburg residents are encouraged to select their preferred cart size for garbage and recycling by March 18. Visit the web portal or call LRS Customer Service at (844) 633-3577 to make selections.
Each home will receive two carts: one for waste and one for recycling. There is no cost for the carts. Carts are available in the following sizes: 35-gallon, 64-gallon, and 96-gallon. Residents may continue to use their own containers but will need to select that option through the web portal or by calling the LRS customer service team to avoid receiving default carts.
Residents of single-family homes who fail to make their selection will receive the default sizes of 96-gallon for waste and 64-gallon for recycling. Townhomes will receive the default size of 64-gallons for both waste and recycling. If residents receive the default sizes and requested something different after the March 18 deadline, LRS will still exchange delivered carts; however, residents will need to use the carts provided for the May 1 start while waiting for preferred sizes to arrive.
Read the complete news release or visit the village's Garbage & Recycling page for more details.

2022 MULCH DELIVERY AND PICK UP
Residents interested in having the village deliver mulch to their homes are required to prepay before delivery can be scheduled. The cost of mulch is $50 per 3-cubic-yard load. Payments with a credit card can be made using WebPay or in-person with a check at the Finance Department inside the Robert O. Atcher Municipal Center, 101 Schaumburg Ct.
The first set of mulch delivery dates is April 12-14. Same-day delivery requests cannot be made and priority of delivery will go by the date of order. WebPay orders will take priority over orders that are paid in person. If mulch runs out before a delivery can be made, the resident will receive a refund.
Residents may also pick up mulch free of charge beginning Monday, March 7 at the Engineering and Public Works complex, 714 S. Plum Grove Rd. Residents are asked to enter at the traffic light and proceed beyond Fire Station 55 to the wood bin designated for mulch pickup. This service is intended for non-commercial residential use only.
