Arrive Safely This Thanksgiving
|
The Schaumburg Police Department has joined the Illinois Department of Transportation, the Illinois State Police and nearly 200 local police and sheriff’s departments to remind motorists to Click It or Ticket and Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over throughout the Thanksgiving holiday. Being one of the busiest times on the road, the safety campaign's goal is to reduce motor vehicle crashes and the resulting injuries and fatalities.
If you’ll be celebrating with alcohol or other impairing substances, please remember to make a plan for a sober ride home, pull over and call 911 if you see a drunk driver, and make sure everyone in your vehicle is wearing their seat belt. It is the best defense against an impaired driver. For more information, visit the Police Department's website or call 311 in Schaumburg.

Snow Command Back In Action
|
The first snowfall of the season has occurred and the village's Snow Command is in full swing. Crews monitor road conditions 24/7 and are responsible for clearing village-owned streets and parking lots during inclement weather. Residents and travelers can also view the village's interactive snow map SnowStat to receive near real-time status of plowing and salting operations.
Please refrain from blowing or shoveling snow into the street, which can cause dangerous ice patches prolonging removal efforts and it is a violation of village code. It is unlawful to park on any public street after two inches of snow has fallen. Get the latest updates from Snow Command by viewing SnowStat or dial 311 in Schaumburg with questions.
