ELECTRICAL AGGREGATION PROGRAM CHANGES
The village recently approved a new agreement with Eligo Energy for the electrical aggregation program which will run from December 2021 through November 2022 at a rate that will match the monthly ComEd Price-to-Compare. Unlike previous electrical aggregation programs, not all residents will be eligible for the village’s program, but all residents will pay the same rate for their energy. Eligible residents will receive a letter from Eligo and will be enrolled in the program where they will pay a rate equal to ComEd’s monthly default rate. Residents who are not eligible will receive a letter from Eligo explaining that they will be returned to ComEd’s default service starting in December 2021.
As part of the village’s agreement with Eligo, our supplier will purchase renewable power to offset a portion of the village’s total electric consumption. Additionally, Schaumburg will receive a civic grant of $164,191 from Eligo which the Village Board authorized the village to spend on an environmental project to be determined in 2022. For more information, visit the village's website, contact Clayton Black or dial 311 in the village.
