VILLAGE KICKS OFF NATIONAL COMMUNITY SURVEY | |
The Village of Schaumburg is conducting the 2024 National Community Survey (NCS) in collaboration with Polco, Schaumburg’s online civic engagement platform. This survey provides the Village Board and staff with valuable insights on village performance since the last survey in 2021 and helps set priorities for the future. All feedback will be anonymous, and personal information will be securely stored by Polco.
Survey Participation:
- Randomly selected households will receive a mailed survey invitation in the upcoming weeks. If you receive an invitation, please follow the instructions and share your input.
- If you are not selected for the mailed survey, a community-wide survey will be available on the village's website Monday, Sept. 30.
Important Notes:
- Please only respond once to the survey.
- Help spread the word by encouraging your neighbors and others in your network to take the survey.
- This survey is separate from the Township of Schaumburg's National Community Survey. If you were selected to receive a mailed survey for the Township of Schaumburg's survey, you should not receive one from the Village of Schaumburg. However, residents are encouraged to participate in both surveys (if applicable) once the community-wide survey link becomes available Sept. 30.

The village wishes to extend a thank you to everyone near and far who attended Septemberfest over the Labor Day weekend. The festival featured live music from artists like Phillip Phillips and Plain White T's, an arts and crafts show, Taste of Schaumburg, carnival rides, and plenty more to enjoy. Thanks to all personnel, staff, volunteers, vendors, sponsors and everyone else who helped make this year’s event a success.
We look forward to welcoming the community back to Municipal Center Grounds for another great fest in 2025!
| WORK BEGINS ON GATEWAY SIGN ON ALGONQUIN ROAD | |
Work has begun on the construction of a new gateway sign at 1580 E. Algonquin Rd., the former site of the Frankly Yours hot dog stand. The vacant property was purchased by the village in 2023. The sign is being placed at the southeast corner making it visible to westbound traffic on Algonquin Road and northbound traffic on Thorntree Lane.
The village began its gateway sign replacement project in 2023, which included the replacement of twelve existing signs and the installation of a new sign at Roselle Road and Central Road. With the addition of this newly installed sign and the unchanged stone sign located at Frontage Road and Higgins Road (IL-72), the village maintains 15 gateway signs entering Village of Schaumburg limits along key arterial roads.
The gateway signs incorporate the village’s branding and identity in a modern design that welcomes pedestrians and motorists to the Schaumburg community. Entryway signs create a sense of place and quality, attract attention, convey the community’s image as a high-quality place to live, and help the community stand apart from its neighbors.
