SEPTEMBER IS NATIONAL PREPAREDNESS MONTH
|
National Preparedness Month is observed each September to raise awareness about the importance of preparing for disasters and emergencies that could happen at any time. Your family may not be together if a disaster strikes, so it is important to know which types of disasters could affect your area. Know how you’ll contact one another and reconnect if separated. Establish a family meeting place that’s familiar and easy to find. Make a plan today for you and your loved ones. For resources and more information, visit the Ready.gov website.

VILLAGE CORRESPONDENCE AND SOLICITORS
|
The village is committed to providing and maintaining communications with its residents and businesses in an effort to foster transparency and educate the public on important projects, services, and programs that are offered in Schaumburg. As such, the village uses a variety of methods in which to communicate with the public, which can include flyers, letters, door hangers, and other print correspondence. The public should be advised that official village correspondence will include the village logo and will identify the department and/or individual responsible for sending the correspondence. Contact information for follow-up questions and/or concerns will also be included in official correspondences. If you have received something that you are unsure is from the Village of Schaumburg, please dial 311 in the village or call (847) 895-4500 so the information can be reviewed by the appropriate village staff.
Solicitors
On a similar note, there are many organizations that may claim some sort of affiliation with a village department when soliciting citizens and businesses for contributions. These groups may be legitimate but they are all private organizations or associations. If you believe you are dealing with a con artist or a solicitor who is misrepresenting themselves, do not open the door and contact the Schaumburg Police Department by dialing 911 to report the incident.
