SCHAUMBURG RECEIVES ABOVE AND BEYOND AWARD FROM ILLINOIS ESGR
The Village of Schaumburg was honored to receive the Above and Beyond Award from the Illinois Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR). The award is presented by ESGR state committees to recognize employers at the local level who have gone above and beyond the legal requirements of the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act by providing their Guard and Reserve employees additional, non-mandated benefits. The village was nominated for this award by Bill Sadlick, the village's IT Network Administrator and a Chief Warrant Officer for the Army National Guard.

The village is grateful and proud of our employees who are active in the Guard and Reserve as well as our military veterans.
ENJOY AN EVENING OF HOPS & PROPS SEPT. 18
Tickets are still available for the public to attend the Schaumburg Regional Airport’s Hops & Props event that will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 18 at the airport, 905 W. Irving Park Rd.

Hops & Props is a celebration of the local brews, drinks, food, and aircraft from across the Midwest. Vintage aircraft, live music, food trucks, and local vendors will be out in the Schaumburg Airport hangar and ramp for all to enjoy. Beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages will be available. Casual attire is recommended. Admittance is 21 and older. Tickets can be purchased for $5 (plus processing fees) online.

FAMILY COUNSELING CENTER OFFERS HELP TO RESIDENTS
September is Suicide Prevention Month and the Village of Schaumburg reminds residents in need about the services available through the Family Counseling Center, 17 E. Schaumburg Rd. Since 1975, the Family Counseling Center has served thousands of Schaumburg residents with family, individual, marital, pre-marital and couples therapy. All services are offered at highly affordable rates, and fees are determined based on each individual's financial situation.

PROGRESS NOTES
SAVE THE DATE: Public Safety Open House Oct. 2
The Village of Schaumburg invites the public to attend the annual Public Safety Open House from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 2 at the Public Safety Campus, 950/1000 W. Schaumburg Rd. This free, family-friendly event will feature interactive demonstrations and exhibits from the Schaumburg Fire Department and Schaumburg Police Department. Pace Soldier Field Express Service Resumes Sept. 19
Calling all Chicago Bears fans! Pace's Soldier Field Express Route 236 from the Northwest Transportation Center in Schaumburg to Soldier Field will resume service beginning Sunday, Sept. 19. Due to the limited number of buses at each location, all passengers are strongly encouraged to arrive early at all boarding locations, as buses begin boarding up to 30 minutes before departure time. All riders must also wear a mask at all times while on board. For additional details, including schedules, fare information and restrictions, visit the Pace Bus website.
Origami Exhibition Coming to Schaumburg Library Sept. 23-26
Join the Chicago Area Origami Society (CHAOS) and Windy City Origami at the Schaumburg Township District Library, 130 S. Roselle Rd., Sept. 23-26 for a free, international exhibition from origami designers around the world. Hands-on origami demonstrations for all ages will be happening throughout this exhibit, which takes place in-person in the library's Rasmussen Room. Masks are required for all attendees. Kashmir Rocks Prairie Center Stage Oct. 2
Renowned Led Zeppelin tribute band Kashmir comes to the Al Larson Prairie Center for the Arts, 201 Schaumburg Ct., 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 2. This remarkable tribute band spans the career of one of rock and roll’s most celebrated bands. Using period instruments and costumes, Kashmir has entertained audiences since 2001 with timeless rock classics including “Stairway to Heaven,” “Good Times Bad Times,” “Whole Lotta Love,” and “Kashmir.” To purchase tickets, visit the Prairie Center website or call the box office at (847) 895-3600.
SBA CELEBRATES 20 YEARS OF SERVICE TO BUSINESS COMMUNITY
The Village of Schaumburg congratulates the Schaumburg Business Association on their 20th anniversary of serving our business community. Village President Tom Dailly marked the occasion by presenting a proclamation on behalf of the village to SBA leadership this week at the organization's Good Morning Schaumburg event. NOW HIRING: WINTER LABORERS (CDL REQUIRED)
The Village of Schaumburg is actively recruiting for seasonal Winter Laborers. This position performs unskilled labor and performs snow and ice removal operations on village streets and village-owned parking lots on a temporary as-needed basis. Work consists of assisting staff in the maintenance and repair of village infrastructure, buildings, grounds and facilities. This position may also perform semi-skilled mechanical labor as well as custodial work. The position is typically from Nov. 1 to April 30 based on a 40-hour workweek. Work schedule may change depending on snow and ice operational needs. Position requires a minimum of two years of experience operating dump trucks with plow and salt spreader and possession of a valid Class A or B (CDL) Illinois driver’s license with air brake endorsement. CONSTRUCTION PROGRESS
Meacham Road at Algonquin Road Intersection Improvements

Installation of a large storm sewer pipe across Algonquin Road at Parkside Drive will occur next week. Expect single-lane traffic and delays on Algonquin Road between Progress Parkway and Meacham Road from Monday, Sept. 20 through Thursday, Sept. 23. Traffic will be limited to single lanes in each direction, shifted to the south and then north as crews work across the roadway. If possible, please use an alternate route. Please drive safely and watch for flaggers.
National Parkway - Woodfield Road to American Lane
The current traffic configuration on National Parkway continues this week with one northbound lane open from Woodfield Road to American Lane. Southbound lanes on National Parkway between American Lane and Woodfield Road continue to be closed with traffic continuing to be detoured. This configuration is scheduled to remain until the end of September.
