2021 Contingent Grant Recipient Update
Jennifer Lowe of Montecito Estate Management Shares Her Progress
In November 2021, Jennifer Lowe of Montecito Estate Management (MEM) became the recipient of the Economic Growth Accelerator's $100,000 grant for her innovative Employee Ownership Trust (EOT) growth initiative which will establish MEM as an employee-owned company—the first in SB County!

Jennifer's ultimate outcome is to provide a cohesive transition from owner to employee ownership and to set her employees up with rock-solid success by spring of 2022.

"The creation process of the EOT has brought more excitement than I could have expected. Building this company from the ground up has been a labor of love and to see my employees' excitement, their growth into leadership roles, and the anticipation of soon becoming the first EOT in SB county has been incredibly rewarding. Having the opportunity to collaborate with two community-based organizations is a dream come true," states Jennifer.
MEM's values are deeply rooted in being an active part of this community; I want my company to be an example for other businesses that want to capture and keep jobs locally as well as build a stronger community. my hope is that this demonstration project will enable many others to follow.”
