A Message from Principal Engelkins
Schenk Families,

It was great to see many of you at our Zoom Back to School Nights! If you weren't able to make it, the slides and the schedules shared that night are also linked on our Virtual learning website (below) for you to review.

We are so excited to get started. We know this fall will be like none other, and look forward to partnering with you to make sure all students have a positive experience!

Sincerely,

Ms. Amy Engelkins
Principal
Student Daily Schedules
Students will have "live" synchronous instruction Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Wednesdays students will have lessons and activities to complete asynchronously. The Wednesday activities are not live and can be completed at any time.

You can find your student's schedule on the grade level pages of our Virtual Learning website. Please know that we will spend the first few weeks building relationships and getting into routines, to move towards the full schedule.
Weekly Planners
We heard from families last spring that it would be helpful to have a list to know more about the learning students will be engaged in virtually. This year we have created a weekly planner that all teams will post in SeeSaw on Monday mornings to give you an idea of the learning and tasks for the week. Check out the following document to find your student's weekly planner for the first week of school.
Back to School Night Slides

For those of you who were not able to attend Back to School Night, you can find copies of each grade level team's slides that were presented here. Please reach out to your teacher with any questions.

School Supplies
Some families have asked about a virtual school supply list. Knowing families are making virtual learning work in a variety of circumstances, we are not expecting students to have specific school supplies at home. If you are able, it may be helpful for your student to have a notebook, or paper, a pencil or a pen, and crayons or colored pencils, but this is not a requirement.
Tech HELP
If you need help with technology, please contact our Library Media Technology Specialist, Sam Rae at sskar@madison.k12.wi.us or by completing this Google form to request support.

If you need your student's username and password, please contact their classroom teacher for this information.
MMSD Food Sites
MMSD has designated neighborhood food sites. Whitehorse is one of the neighborhood food sites. All students regardless of Free & Reduced Meals status are eligible to pick up a box weekly with 5 breakfasts and 5 lunches. Please go to our district website to pre-order food for pick-up.
