Daniel Trampe (Fr) and Muhammed Ahmed (So) became the two fastest "25 lappers" (6.2 miles) in Chabot history on March 30th at the Mike Fanelli Invitational hosted by San Francisco State University.
The previous 10k record was set in 1982 by John Carey with a time of 31:45.30. Daniel Trampe from Dublin High School broke the record with a time of 31:41.47 (5:01 per mile). Muhammed Ahmed from Newark Memorial High School crushed the record with a time of 30:24.45 (4:49 per mile), which also ranks him 2nd nationally among community college athletes.
