In a dazzling display, Chabot sophomore Robert Stitts won state championships in the men's 100 meters and 200 Saturday, May 17th in the 3C2A Track and Field Championships.
Chabot competitors earned an impressive five titles overall, including four on Saturday at College of San Mateo. The Chabot women placed sixth as a team with 46 points, and the Chabot men were eighth with 41. Chabot is guided by first-year head coach Dooney Jones.
The Glads' Jeremy Craft prevailed in the men's long jump. The Chabot women's 4x100 relay followed by taking first place in 46.98. The relay consisted of Rymiyah Pringle-Hamilton, Nyarah Anderson-Brown, Maleah Taylor, and Niah Alomar.
Chabot's Shae Wright set the tone for Saturday's Gladiator fireworks by winning the women's pole vault title on Friday.
Anderson-Brown, an impressive freshman, had a couple of near-misses after the 400 relay win. She took second in the 100 and 200 finals, dropping a photo finish to winner Shayla Roy Williams of Modesto in the 200, 24.01 to 24.02.
The Chabot men's 4x100 relay placed third. Stitts, an El Cerrito High graduate being recruited by top programs such as UCLA, South Florida and Cal State Fullerton, earned his first two state titles. He took the 100 in 10.34 seconds, just ahead of Jeffrey Missouri of Modesto (10.39). Stitts won the 200 title in a time of 21.37. Chabot's Jamal Perry was sixth (10.59).
Craft, a James Logan graduate, had a winning long jump of 23 feet, 2 inches — just off his personal record of 23-6 from high school.
Wright was among four who cleared 11-7.75 in the pole vault finals, the winning height, but she prevailed based on fewer misses. Wright has the Chabot school record of 12-1.5.
Chabot's Amartya Poovaiah was seventh in the men's 800. Medha Gowda was seventh in the women's 5000 (18:31.51).

Chabot's 6th Annual Rock Da Mic
Courtesy of Amelia "Mia" Sete
On behalf of Nesians Unite and the Pacific Islander Wellness Initiative (PIWI), thank you to everyone who showed love and support for our 6th Annual Rock Da Mic! Our students took us on a powerful journey — from the islands of Guam, Fiji, Sāmoa, Tonga, and Aotearoa (New Zealand), to Philadelphia, Sacramento, and back to the Bay — through their incredible performances in dance, poetry, and song. In true Nesians Unite fashion, we ended the night with a collective song, singing and dancing together as we cleaned up the space. 🌊
Shoutout to our planning committee, ICUE Grindz, Alunga Monū Visuals, our MOVEMENT fam, Chabot Admin, Faculty and Staff, our volunteers, students, families and friends.
We also want to thank the various programs who tabled, giving students the opportunity to connect with potential transfer schools and explore the many resources available to support their health and well-being.

- San Jose State University's Pacific Islander Student Association (PISA),
