Track and Field 5k Record Broken
Story and photos courtesy of Kyle Robinson
| In early March, Chabot Track & Field competed in the Occidental Invitational in Southern California where sophomore Daniel Trampe, out of Dublin High School, finished the evening with a personal best and new Chabot College record in the 5,000 meter event with a blazing time of 14:23.42 (4:36 per mile). This time beats last year's school record and current UC Davis Aggie number one runner, Muhammed Ahmed (14:30.19). In addition, freshman Dylan Baptista ran 15:06 (4:51 per mile) and freshman Kyle Galinis 15:14 (4:57 per mile) over the same distance. The Gladiators had the first, fourth, and sixth fastest 5k runners in Northern California. | |
