The Community's Foundation (TCF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering philanthropy and strengthening communities across the Greater Philadelphia region.
TCF manages charitable funds that support scholarships, grantmaking, and community-based programs, empowering individuals and organizations to make a lasting impact on the causes they care about most. Each year, TCF supports hundreds of students and nonprofits, helping to build a more vibrant, equitable, and connected community.

For Students in Delaware County
Due Date for all scholarships: November 14, 2025
| | Health Professions Scholarships | | TCF Health Professions Scholarships, Talekar Family Health Professions Scholarship, and Wilbur C. and Betty Lea Henderson Scholarships | These scholarships, each valued at $7,000, support students pursuing careers in human health professions (e.g. medicine, nursing, pharmacy, therapy, or health research). Eligible applicants must be from one of the following school districts: Interboro, Ridley, Southeast Delco, Wallingford-Swarthmore, Springfield, or Rose Tree Media. Scholarship funds are awarded in two installments during undergraduate study and are paid directly to the recipient’s educational institution. | |
| TGJ Shine On Scholarships | The TGJ Shine On Scholarship Fund honors the memory of Tiffany Grossi Johnson by recognizing exceptional female scholar-athletes who embody her spirit of excellence. In receiving this scholarship, recipients are not only supported financially but celebrated as role models among their peers, teachers, teammates, and communities—just as Tiffany was. At least three $1,000 scholarships will be awarded: one each to a student from Ridley High School, Springfield High School, and another from Delaware County. Awards will be paid directly to the recipient’s college, university, or trade school. | |

Coach Josie Harper Scholarship
The Coach Josie Harper Scholarship honors the legacy of Jo Ann “Josie” Harper (Class of ’61), Penncrest High School’s former Women’s Athletic Director and Coach. This award will be granted annually to a Penncrest female athlete who demonstrates academic excellence, embodies strong moral character, and has financial need. Josie Harper was a trailblazer in women’s athletics, a mentor, and a leader whose influence reached far beyond Penncrest, and this scholarship continues her legacy by supporting the next generation of women student-athletes.

| Scholarships for Students in Chester | | Dora and John Brown Scholarship | The Dora and John Brown Memorial Scholarship honors two lifelong residents of Chester, PA, who believed in the potential of local youth. At least one $1,500 scholarship is awarded annually to a graduating senior who lives in Chester, has a 3.0 GPA or higher, is active in community service, and plans to attend a nonprofit college, university, or trade school. Funds are paid directly to the institution. | |

Lawrence Murray, Sr. Scholarship
This $1,000 scholarship honors Lawrence Murray Sr., born enslaved in 1861 and later a respected leader in Chester, PA. It is open to graduating African-American seniors from Chester who demonstrate a commitment to community service and plan to attend a nonprofit college, university, or trade school. Funds are paid directly to the institution.

| Isiah and Tommie Lee Jones Youth in Action Scholarships | Three (3) $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to students who reside in the Chester-Upland School District. This scholarship honors Isiah A. Jones Sr. and Tommie Lee Jones, lifelong residents of Chester, PA, who served as mentors to the young people of their community. Funds are paid directly to the institution. | |

Janet Bollinger Doherty Memorial Law School Scholarship
This $5,000 scholarship, funded by TCF’s Happy Soles Fund, supports current or former residents of Delaware County, PA, who are pursuing a law degree. This scholarship honors Janet Bollinger Doherty, a beloved mother, friend, attorney, cancer survivor, and community leader. Applicants who demonstrate Janet’s legacy—through philanthropy, academic excellence, involvement in sports, and a meaningful connection to music or the arts—are encouraged to apply.
