In July, the Trust awarded 30 scholarships totaling $92,500 to students pursuing careers in civil and geotechnical engineering. There were 28 At-Large Scholarships, which are funded from several named scholarship funds within the Trust. In addition, there were two scholarships from the Michael L. Join the Trust on Wednesday, Sept. 29, for a Chicago River Cruise and Cocktail Reception to raise funds for the Clyde N. Baker, Jr. Foundation Engineering Scholarship Fund. The goal is to raise $180,000 through cruise participation and direct donations to bring the fund to a self-sustaining level and provide perpetual scholarships in Clyde’s name for years to come!
The Trust is hosting the Annual California Golf Outing fundraiser at the Dublin Ranch Golf Course in Dublin, California, on Sept. 20. Proceeds from the outing fund scholarships for students studying toward careers in the deep foundations, engineering and construction industries.
All runners and walkers are invited to join the Trust 5K Fun Run/Walk on Wednesday, Oct. 13, during DFI’s Annual Conference in Las Vegas. Proceeds from the race provide scholarships to students pursuing careers in the deep foundations engineering and construction industry. The race begins at 7:00 a.m. and registration is $35. Supporters are also welcome to donate to the Trust as General Sponsors when registering online.
Golf Outings Raise Funds
The Pennsylvania Golf Outing in July raised $5,200 for student scholarship funds at Penn State University and University of Pittsburgh as well as more than $30,000 in direct contributions to Penn State, Pitt and Carnegie Mellon University.
The New Jersey Golf Outing in August had its most successful year raising approximately $27,000 to fund scholarships for students pursuing studies in deep foundations, architecture, engineering and construction.
