Rotary Offers $15K In Literacy Grants

Teachers in preschool through third grade, including Special Education, may apply for grants from $500 to $2,500 from the Long Beach Rotary.

The application deadline is Friday, Jan. 28.
Students Receive Free Gift Cards

Job Sharing Program

Permanent elementary or secondary teachers are invited to apply for job sharing partnerships for the 2022-2023 school year.
Job share deadlines are as follows:

  • Friday, Jan. 28: Submission of request to have your name and telephone number included on a list of interested job sharing partners.

  • Tuesday, March 1: Submission of applications for new job sharing partnerships, or renewal of existing partnerships. Submit applications to Human Resource Services, Attention: Job Share, via district mail or email to jobshare@lbschools.net.

More information about Job Sharing (including the Job Share Interest Request form and the Job Share Application) can be found at teachlongbeach.com under "For Current Employees." For additional information, please call Human Resource Services at ext. 8106.
Certificated Retirement, Resignation or Leave of Absence Requests

Certificated employees planning to resign, retire or request a leave of absence for the 2022-23 school year should complete the appropriate form as soon as possible. It is appreciated and helpful for staffing when these items are submitted prior to Tuesday, March 1. Resignations and requests for full year leaves of absence received after Thursday, June 30 will not be approved unless the District is able to hire a suitable replacement.

Financial Education for LBUSD Employees

A free Financial Education program is available on myLBUSD for all Long Beach Unified School District employees. The interactive program, developed in partnership with Schools First Federal Credit Union and Long Beach Schools Financial Credit Union, offers learning modules covering a variety of financial topics including emergency savings, retirement and
financial caregiving.
