STRS Retirement Planning

Virtual retirement seminars for employees participating in the California State Teachers’ Retirement System will be held on the following dates:

  • Wednesday, Nov. 3 from 3:35 to 5:15 p.m.
  • Wednesday, Dec. 15 from 3:35 to 5:15 p.m.
  • Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2022 from 4 to 5:30 p.m.

The presentations will be held by a CalSTRS counselor via Zoom. Each seminar will explain CalSTRS service retirement allowance, retirement options, updates on legislation, and disability and survivor benefits. CalSTRS members are encouraged to attend if they are eligible for retirement.

Save the Date: Early Childhood Ed Symposium Returns
Mark your calendar for the in-person return of the Long Beach Early Childhood Education Symposium on Saturday, March 26 from 8 a.m. to
4 p.m at the Renaissance Long Beach Hotel.

This year’s theme is “Early Educators: The Heroes of our Community” and will feature keynote speaker Lisa Murphy, M.Ed., Early Childhood Specialist, Founder and CEO of Ooey Gooey, Inc.

Session topics will include science, social-emotional development, technology, temperament, engineering, enrichment, arts, assessment, math and management. Early childhood educators and administrators, directors, district leaders, early transitional kindergarten, transitional kindergarten and traditional kindergarten teachers are encouraged to attend.
