Don't miss out!
School districts in Iowa are required to have either a minimum of 180 days or 1,080 hours of instruction. The Cedar Falls School District uses the hours calendar, which allows us to say, as of today, the last day of school for students will be Friday, June 7. Previous inclement weather days have been added to the end of the school year as student attendance days. However, today’s no school day will become a professional development day at the end of the school year for staff, so this keeps the last day with students as June 7. The projected last day for teachers will be June 11, while we are hopeful this is our last snow day for the year, if the need does arise, we will reevaluate our calendar/hours at that time. Thank you for your patience and understanding!
The Cedar Falls Community School District and School Board have been engaged in a process to examine the high school’s facility needs, prioritize those needs and develop solutions.

As part of this process, we would like to invite you to an informational session on Thursday, February 28 at 6 p.m. in the cafeteria of Cedar Falls High School . The event will feature a presentation followed by a school tour. Attendees will be able to ask questions and provide their feedback to district administrators and board members.

Following the informational session, we hope you can join us for a Cedar Falls High School Pops Concert, starting at 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium.

As many of our parents and families know, enrollment at Cedar Falls High School has increased in recent years. The district projects total enrollment throughout will grow by more than 1,000 students over the next decade.

In the coming months, community members will have numerous opportunities to take part in the process to address the high school's space and facility needs. This includes several more informational sessions taking place in March, April and May. We will provide more details on these upcoming events soon.

As we continue this process, we ask for your engagement, input and feedback as the district and board consider solutions to these needs. Thank you for your ongoing support of Cedar Falls' students and schools.
Congratulations to the Peet Junior High 8th Grade Concert Band on being selected as the 3A/4A Middle School performing ensemble for the 2019  Iowa Bandmasters Association (IBA) Conference! This achievement is the highest honor that a band in the state of Iowa can achieve and is a show of the great commitment to music from the students, directors, administrators and community of Cedar Falls.  This 56-student ensemble is under the direction of Mr. Ben Byersdorfer. This is their second appearance at the Iowa Bandmasters Conference, having previously performed in 2015. Bands submitted recordings in early January and were selected by a listening panel through a blind audition process. These bands are considered the premier performing ensembles in Iowa schools and selection to perform at the IBA Conference is one of the highest honors awarded for any band in the state of Iowa. They will perform:
Friday, May 10, 1 p.m.
Grand Ballroom, Downtown Marriott Hotel, Des Moines
