Letter from Principal Young
Dear OLOL Families,
From my vantage point, we had a great start to the 2022-2023 school year. It is so good for my soul to see our students back to school. The building comes alive after a long quiet summer. Seeing your children in the hallway, in the classroom, and on the playground warms my heart and gives me a sense of purpose. Thanks again for sharing your children with the OLOL community.
Last week we started with our K-8 program. This week is when we go all-in with our preschool programs. We started two new preschool programs this school year. We have an additional 60 students starting this week. Welcome to OLOL!!
The OLOL online apparel store is now open. Information can be found below. Orders need to be placed by Wednesday, September 7th. If you want some OLOL clothing for yourself, son or daughter, please check out the store this week.
The OLOL magazine sale continues this week. Please take a moment to review the information that went home last week. If you are able to participate and purchase some items, we would appreciate it. OLOL gets a percentage with all orders so every purchase will help.
As I said last week, if you have any questions about OLOL please don’t hesitate to reach out. We have mentor parents, teachers, and the school office that are happy to answer any questions that you have.
Thank you to all that attended the GRACE Back-to-School Mass last night at Nativity Catholic Church. GRACE gave an award to a volunteer at each GRACE school that goes above and beyond to support their school. OLOL is extremely proud of Sarah Day who was recognized as the OLOL volunteer. Mrs. Day has been a strong supporter of OLOL since she started here three years ago. Thank you Sarah for all that you do for OLOL.
“Learn everything you can, anytime you can, from anyone you can; there will be always be a time when you will be grateful you did” - Sarah Caldwell

Our Lady of Lourdes School - Counselor's Corner
|
Welcome Back! I hope you had a wonderful summer filled with blessings, fun, and relaxation! I had a nice summer with some down time to reflect on God’s goodness and grace.
I just wanted to share some helpful ideas as your child(ren) eases back into the school this year especially for our younger students who may struggle with the transition more.
- Talk to them about what to expect, such as activities they will be a part of.
- Show interest and be supportive and encouraging.
- Arrive at school on time so your child can adjust to the classroom routine.
- After you say goodbye, make a quick exit.
- Create a daily goodbye routine each day with your child.
- Make getting ready in the morning as stress-free as possible. For example, lay out the clothes and other needed items the night before. Have them help get ready for the next day, help prepare their cold lunch or pack their snack.
Here are some helpful books if your child may have some difficulty getting back into the school routine.

The Invisible String by Patrice Kerst
