Letter from Principal Young

Dear OLOL Families,

We are approaching the end of trimester which ends on Friday, February 24th.  If your son or daughter is in middle school, this is the time to make sure missing or late assignments are turned in.   Report cards will be sent home on Wednesday, March 1st.

Spring conferences are Thursday, March 2nd in the evening and Friday, March 3rd in the afternoon.  Signing up for conferences will be done through Powerschool.  The information will be sent out today  Wednesday, February 15th.  We still have learning to do and it is never too late to discuss your son or daughter’s educational journey with your child’s teacher.  We would love to talk with you.

Whenever I get a chance I love to say that an OLOL provides a high level education.  I feel that we have high standards for learning and this translates to our graduates performing at a high level at high school.   I try to gather as many data points as possible.  This is hard to do at times because some area schools have different assessments.   There are moments when we take a similar assessment.  One of these is the Knight of Columbus Knowledge contest in math and spelling.

I wish to thank Ron Van Dyke who heads up this contest.  The contest is for 5th - 8th grade students at all DePere area schools both public and private.  I’m extremely proud to announce that OLOL had 5 middle school students place in the top 5 in math.  That is the second most of any school that participated.  We are the smallest student body of all of the schools yet we placed 5 students in the top five.  We will announce the winners in an upcoming Lourdes Letter and at a school Mass.  Way to go OLOL students and Mr. Severson.

Please be aware of the $200 referral enrollment incentive that GRACE is offering.  If you refer a new family to our school, you will receive a $200 tuition credit.   This is an exciting time for OLOL.  We are up 28 students from where we were last year and have 7 more new students from where we were last year.  This is a very encouraging trend and we should reach our enrollment goal of 220.  Thank you for all of your help with this endeavor.

When gathering information for tax preparation, GRACE families are to access their TADS account | select Billing | Billing Account Number | Reports | Household Paid Tuition Tax Report | enter the tax year (i.e. 2022) and submit.

This year, a quick link also appears at the Billing Accounts – Tuition & Fees screen to access the Household Paid Tuition Tax Report.
