Dear OLOL Families,

I’m sure that your children are always excited about the $1 dress down days. The money that we collect on these days goes directly to support Catholic education. The funds from the dollar dress down days in September and October went to the OLOL Night of Keys Fundraiser, our largest fundraiser of the year. Starting in November and continuing throughout the school year, funds raised will be assisting two Catholic Schools, St. Francis de Sales High School and St. George’s Boarding School for Boys and Girls schools in the Diocese of Warangel, India. These schools share a well that provides drinking water for their students. The motor on their pump went out recently and it is a struggle to provide drinking water for their students. Our funds will assist them in purchasing a new water pump. We are blessed to be able to assist Catholic education around the world. Thank you for supporting these three fine Catholic Schools this year.

We are approaching the completion of Trimester 2, which is hard to believe. Please take a moment to check your child’s Powerschool account. There is still time for missing assignments to get completed and potentially raise their grades.  

On the parent side, the end of trimester 2 is a good time to check on your TSF requirement. Next week we are going to review TSF hours that have been completed so far. We are asking that if you did complete your TSF hours (including Night of Keys hours), please enter them this week. Click HERE to enter your hours.

New this year: During enrollment, you are asked to complete and submit the Parish Verification Form to obtain the Active Parishioner Rate (lower tuition). The form is due by June 1, 2022. The form and details are available on the Tuition and Fees webpage. (See additional information below from GRACE).

Wisconsin Tax Deduction for Tuition Expense

Tax legislation signed into law gives Wisconsin taxpayers the opportunity to deduct private school tuition expenses from their taxable income. A subtraction from income is allowed for tuition expenses that are paid for any of the GRACE schools. Parents/guardians are eligible for a maximum deduction of $4,000 per child in grades K-8 and $10,000 per child in grades 9-12. Students transitioning from eighth to ninth grade are eligible for both deductions. Per state guidance, any amount spent on tuition and book fees are eligible for the deduction. Book fees include digital books, such as laptops or tablet fees issued by the school.

Tuition tax credit information is available to GRACE families online via GRACE’s enrollment management system, TADS. The TADS Household Paid Tuition Tax Report will provide a breakdown of payments made for the specified household’s tuition account during the tax year.

When gathering information for tax preparation, GRACE families are to access their TADS account | select Billing | Billing Account Number | Reports | Household Paid Tuition Tax Report | enter the tax year (i.e. 2021) and submit.
