Dear OLOL Families,
The conclusion of the 2022-2023 school year is upon us. The staff and administration are wrapping up activities and lessons while preparing for the 2023-2024 school year. I’m asking parents to complete one task as we wrap up the school year. If you haven’t done so, please complete the TSF FORM for all of your volunteer hours by Friday, May 26th. The OLOL Parish Picnic is June 11. You can earn TSF hours by volunteering. You may add those hours in advance. Thank you!
Spanish Show-off night was last week. As I said that night our goal is not to fill your May calendar with events, but to showcase what the students have learned throughout the year. Señora Eggart is extremely proud of her program and rightfully so. She works extremely hard and is so committed to giving your children the very best. Spanish Show-off Night is her way of showing you how she values our students and families. The OLOL Spanish program is the best in the state! I have spoken to some of the Spanish teachers around the state and they have told me nobody does what Señora Eggart does. There are HUGE, HUGE benefits in high school, college, and adult life for our students that complete 9 years of Spanish at OLOL. Our graduates and families have told us so. Señora Eggart and the Spanish program is such a blessing for our students and families. Thank you Mrs. Eggart!
We expect to have 200 students enrolled by the end of the week. This will be the first time, in recent years, that we have reached 200 students before the conclusion of the current school year. Thank you to all families that are returning next year and have enrolled. Fr Jim and the staff’s enrollment goal for 2023-2024 is is 220. I am confident with all of your combined efforts we will reach that prior to school starting on August 29th. We are very close to having to split 3 grades into 2 classes. We could use your help with that. If you know of any family or relative that you think could benefit from an OLOL education, please talk us up. There is a financial benefit for you, as you will receive a $200 tuition credit for any family you refer. Please let me know if you have any questions.
I have a few staffing updates to announce. Ms. Behringer has agreed to teach 2nd grade at OLOL next year. Ms. Gierczak will also be joining the elementary team in a yet to be determined role. A full biography and introduction for both new OLOL teachers will be in next week’s Lourdes Letter.
Ms. Mary Dull has decided to pursue other opportunities within GRACE. We thank her for her service this year to OLOL and wish her the very best.
