Letter from Principal Young | | |
Dear OLOL Families,
This week is Teacher Appreciation week. If you have a chance this week, please encourage your son or daughter to write a thank you note for your child’s teacher
One of the many blessings of this job is to see our teachers give everything they can to bring the best educational experience to our students. Many parents don’t get to see how much teachers/staff care for our students and our school. Many of them give everything they possibly can to make sure each child reaches their fullest potential. I’m sure that each of us may have questioned a teacher or an administrator here at OLOL, that is a natural part of the educational system and we want you to ask questions or look for a deeper explanation. I can tell you that everyone at OLOL wants the best for our students and our school. They are an extraordinary group of professionals that give me tremendous joy, working with them each and every day.
Last week, we celebrated Administrative Assistant Day. Mrs. Lori Hendricks has been doing a beautiful job in the office ever since she started in July. She takes on any project and helps any teacher that asks for her help. Lori is a self-starter and a joy to work with. We are so blessed that she said yes to working in OLOL Catholic School. Next time you find yourself in the office, please pass along your thanks to Mrs. Hendricks. Much of the success of our students, staff, and administration is due to Mrs. Hendricks dedication.
May is probably the strangest month for administrators and teachers. We spend half of our time making sure that we end the school year on a high note and finish strong. We spend the other half making preparations for the upcoming school year. The staff and I have scheduled some of the traditional end-of-the year activities. Our annual Awards assembly will be Thursday, May 26th at 1:00PM. This is a chance for us to honor the accomplishments of our 3rd-8th graders. We hope that you are able to attend. Field day will be held on Tuesday, May 31st in the afternoon on the OLOL grounds. We are looking for parent helpers at the game stations. Please let the office know if you can assist us on that day.
Next Thursday, May 12th is the spring musical at West De Pere High School. We are excited to have our students perform for you.

OLOL Facebook Page (Parents)
A group of parents have created a Facebook group for OLOL parents. It is called OLOL Catholic School DePere - Parents.
It is a private Facebook group and is being administered by parents. You will need to be approved to join it, as an OLOL parent.
The hope is that parents can use this page as a way to ask some simple questions quickly, share pictures and things going on at school.
If you have questions or concerns about school, please contact OLOL staff and administration; not this Facebook page. A priority of Fr. Jim's Lourdes 200 is building a strong community and this Facebook page is geared toward that goal.
OLOL staff will continue to maintain the OLOL School Facebook page. We ask that you continue to follow and like the school Facebook page.
If you have any questions please contact the school office.
