Letter from Principal Young

Dear OLOL Families,

Thanks to all that attended and participated in the Night of Keys. It has always been my favorite night of the school year. Each year I take a moment to scan the crowd and see how many people want our students, families, and staff to succeed in a big way. One of our focuses this year, as a staff, is to focus on the little things that are blessings to each of us but we take for granted. I walk away each Night of Keys, thinking what a blessing our school is and we should never take anyone associated with it for granted.

Thank you to all of the chair persons that put in a tremendous amount of work. Their time and energy helped us in so many things that happened behind the scenes. Some of those tasks include data entry, soliciting donations, selling tickets, setting up and tearing down. Thank you for sharing your time and talent.

We are appreciative of Nicci Zwielfelhofer and Sarah Lawler, who have literally put their lives on hold these past two months to support this event. It was a wonderful event and we thank them for all that they did.

Final numbers should be ready in a week or so. Early returns indicate we are right about where we were last year, which was a record-setting year. Thanks again to everyone that had a hand in us reaching our goal.

Our 8th graders will be attending a Diocesan Vocations Fair this week. Please pray for them as they start to think about what type of life they want to lead as an adult.

We have been struggling finding folks to volunteer to park cars for Packer games at the Green Bay Distillery. This is a great opportunity for families to do it together, while earning your TSF hours. W need two people for this Sunday and three people for Thursday night. HERE is the link to sign-up.

OLOL Christmas Concert

Believe it or not, students are already working hard on their music for the Christmas Concert!!

The Our Lady of Lourdes Christmas Concert, Celebrate! will be Thursday, December 15.  The concert will be held in the Church and will begin at 6:30 P.M.  All 4 year-old Preschool through 8th grade students are participating in the concert.  The concert is a mandatory performance for all students - every voice and instrument matters - their classmates are counting on them!

Students should dress nicely for the concert.  Boys should wear nice pants (no blue jeans, no sweat pants, no shorts) and a nice shirt (button down or polo shirt).  Sweaters, suit coats, ties, etc. are all fine, but not necessary. Girls can wear nice pants and a nice shirt, a skirt and a nice shirt, or a dress.  Skirts or dresses should reach the knee or should have leggings worn underneath.  Leggings should only be worn under a skirt or tunic-legth top.

All band students should arrive at school and meet in the band room by 6:00 P.M.  All other students should arrive in church by 6:15 P.M.  All students should plan on staying for the entire concert as we will be performing as a whole school at the close of the concert.

If you have any questions, please feel free to e-mail Mrs. Lewis at mlewis@gracesystem.org.
