Letter from Principal Young

Dear OLOL Families,

OLOL had a busy day on Saturday. Congratulations to the OLOL soccer team for winning the parochial school soccer tournament on Saturday. Great job Cavaliers! Our new Little Dribblers camp met for the second time on Saturday. It’s great to see our youngest learners getting active in extracurricular programs. We also had a strong showing of parents and staff participating in the GRACE walk/run on Saturday. Fr Jim firmly believes that OLOL needs to educate our students in mind, body and spirit. Last weekend was an excellent example of how we do that.

On Friday, OLOL students will participate in the Living Rosary on the Feast Day of Our Lady of the Rosary. October is Rosary month and we wanted our students to experience it in a different way. It will take place at 8:45AM in the church. Parents are welcome to attend to participate with our students. Due to the Living Rosary, we are moving our dress down day to Thursday, October 6th.

The cookie dough order is in. Families can pick-up their orders from 2:30 - 3:30PM on Thursday, October 6th. If weather permits, pick-up will be outside the front entrance. If we have rain, pick-up will be moved inside.

OLOL will be celebrating Grandparent’s Day next Wednesday. Grandparents can come to OLOL at 12:30PM and visit their grandchildren’s classrooms. At 1:00PM we will celebrate Mass. Following Mass grandparents and guests can attend a 50’s dance, enjoy refreshments in the social hall and if weather permits, enjoy recess with their grandchildren. We hope you are able to attend.

A quick note about drop-off. We ask that even if you park in the parking lot and walk your child to the playground that you enter your parking space by going with the flow of traffic. Cars need to take a quick right and flow the “Lourdes Loop”. Problems arise when cars that want to park next to the building don’t take a right and instead continue straight which blocks the cars that opt to just drop-off. If you have questions, please let me know. Thank you for your assistance in making the drop-off procedure run smoothly.

“When holiness is achieved by conforming to God’s will, one knows intuitively that which is wrong and that which is right before the Lord. Holiness speaks when there is silence, encouraging that which is good or reproving that which is wrong”. - James Faust
