~ MVA School News ~
July 20, 2020
Dear MVA Family,

On Friday afternoon, Governor Newsom made the announcement to mandate all schools within the counties that are on the watch list, to start the school year via remote learning. Our ultimate goal is to deliver person to person instruction once it has been cleared to do so in a safe manner.

Mountain View Academy has been working with the CCC Task force team, a small group of parents and medical professionals in order to put the plan in place for in person instruction. In order for in person instruction to happen, our task force made sure social distancing is adhered to with all the health guidance from the Santa Clara County Public Health Office and CDC guidelines. The board approved those guidelines last night and attached is a copy of that document.

We are also preparing for remote learning. At this time, we are finalizing the guidelines for teachers and students which will be reviewed by our CCC Curriculum Committee and finalized soon. Once finalized we will share them with you as soon as they are approved by the MVA Board. Last night our board made the decision to change the first day of school to Thursday, August 20. This change will allow our teachers additional preparation time once they are back on contract. In doing this change, the end of the school year was pushed back one week. Please see the revised calendar attached .

We appreciate your patience during this process. To keep you informed with the ever-changing landscape, we will continue to send out communication Tuesday and Friday at 3pm until school starts. If at any time you have any questions or concerns, please email me at principal@mountainviewacademy.org .

Thank you for your continued prayers for our MVA Family as we navigate through this changing environment that we are living in now. The promise I continue to hold true, is that God will never leave us or forsake us, and He will continue to guide us through. Mountain View Academy has been called to serve in His purpose of bringing young people to Jesus. Romans 8:28 reminds us, β€œAnd we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to His purpose.”

In His Service,

Sara Baroro, Principal
