Family Sunday Readings

Fourth Sunday of Lent

Reading I : 1 Samuel 16:1b, 6-7, 10-13a

David is anointed king of Israel.

  • Saul the first king anointed by Samuel is rejected by God for disobedience.
  • God sends Samuel to Bethlehem to anoint Saul’s successor. Samuel anoints David.
  • The first reading is a story of seeing. God sees David as no one else sees him.

Reading II : Ephesians 5:8-14

You are people of the light.

  • The passage from Ephesians expands on the division between the sightless and the seeing.
  • Those who believe in Jesus are children of light.
  • With Christ they have been raised from the darkness of death and live in the light of Christ.

Gospel : John 9:1-41

Jesus gives us sight.

  • At the start of today’s Gospel story of the man born blind, the disciples believe that sin is the cause of the man’s blindness. When Jesus gives the blind man sight, both the disciples and the blind man move from darkness into light.
  • The Pharisees accuse Jesus of sin because he healed the blind man on the Sabbath. The man with new sight however sees more clearly, he calls Jesus a prophet.
  • The Pharisees refuse to believe; they are truly blind.

"Live a life that reflects God's love."

Romans 12:10

Stations of the Cross- Fridays during Lent 2:00

During the season of Lent, we invite all parents and families to join us each Friday at 2:00 in church as we pray the Stations of the Cross together. This beautiful devotion allows us to reflect on Christ’s journey to the cross and grow in faith as a school community.

Students will lead the Stations each Friday throughout Lent, offering a meaningful opportunity for prayer and reflection. We hope you will join us as we walk this sacred journey together and prepare our hearts for Easter.

Garden Coordinator Needed

Our school garden has been a wonderful space for hands-on learning, stewardship, and community building, and we are looking for a volunteer to serve as our school garden coordinator.

This role would include helping organize seasonal planting and harvesting, coordinating maintenance schedules, and working with teachers and students to keep the garden thriving. Whether you have a green thumb or simply a love for helping children learn and grow, your time and talents would make a meaningful difference.

If you are interested in serving in this role or would like more information, please contact the school office 414-321-8540. Thank you for helping us continue to cultivate both our garden and our community!

Fish Fry 3/13/26 4:00-7:00 Volunteers Needed

Futsal registration has been extended.

The last day to register is March 13th.

This year futsal will be an intramural activity. All practices and scrimmages will be held at SJE. Yahoo! We have decided to provide intramural futsal this year due to the league that ran futsal last year currently not having a board and possibly folding. The SJE athletic committee decided to still provide the opportunity for our student/ athletes to still have an opportunity to participate in developing their futsal skills by providing the sport as an intramural. A big thank you to our SJE Athletic Committee for putting this together.
