Family Prayer

Eighth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Reading I : Sirach 27:4-7

Praise no one before he speaks.

  • One’s faults show when we are shaken.
  • Tribulation is the test of the just.
  • One’s speech discloses the bent of one’s heart.

Reading II : 1 Corinthians 15:54-58

God gives us victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

  • Death will never be victorious.
  • God gave us victory over sin and death through Jesus Christ.
  • Be devoted to the work of the Lord.

Gospel : Luke 6:39-45

From the fullness of the heart the mouth speaks.

  • Why do you notice the splinter in your brother’s eye, but not the wooden beam in your own eye?
  • A good tree does not bear rotten fruit, nor a rotten tree bear good fruit.
  • Every tree is known by its own fruit. What fruit do I bear?

Monday Morning Prayer Service

Each Monday morning we start our week with a prayer service in our gym. Students sit with their buddies. The prayer service is prepared by our teachers, and different classes lead it each week. The prayer service starts shortly after 7:45 as students need time to transition from their classrooms to the gym. It is a great way to start our week.

I would like to extend an invitation to you to join us for our Monday morning prayer services. Please feel free to join us each Monday for prayer. If interested in praying with us, please drop your student off in the car line before 7:45 so they are on time for school. Then circle around the building to the south lot, park and enter through door #6. Please sign in at the office and head to the gym. Chairs will be set up for you. Feel free to join us any Monday for the rest of the year.

Morning Drop Off Concern

A concerned parent contacted the school office. She emailed stating a car pulled up next to the car line, dropped off a student, and left. The student walked between the cars in the carline to get into the building. Please follow the drop off procedures. They are in place to keep all students safe. If students are being dropped off they should be supervised until the school doors are opened for entry at 7:30. Thanks for helping keep our students and your children safe.

Please remember to pull up to the handicap sign closer to door #13 at morning drop off. It helps the line move more efficiently.
