Family Sunday Readings

Third Sunday of Easter

Reading I : Acts 5:27-32, 40b-41

We are all witnesses to all this.

  • The trial of the disciples described in Acts was their second trial before the Sanhedrin (the highest court of justice in Jerusalem).
  • The disciples were arrested for disobeying the order to never speak in Jesus’ name again.
  • In today's passage, the order not to speak of Jesus is repeated by the Sanhedrin.

Reading II : Revelation 5:11-14

The Lamb that was sacrificed is worthy to be given power, wealth, glory, and blessing.

  • The vision from Revelation presents the heavenly witness to the Risen Christ.
  • The hymn of praise begins with the voice of angels, all living creatures, and the elders.
  • The response comes from every creature in heaven and on earth, everything in the universe.

Gospel : John 21:1-19

Jesus stepped forward, took the bread and gave it to them, and did the same with the fish.

  • After the resurrection, the disciples returned to their homes in Galilee and to their former occupation of fishing.
  • Suddenly, the appearance of the Risen Christ transforms all aspects of the disciples' lives.
  • In the final chapter of today's Gospel, Peter's three denials of Jesus are matched by Jesus' threefold commission to take care of his flock.

A Message from Mr. Oberdorf

Healthy Snacks!

To promote healthy habits and support our students’ well-being, we are encouraging all families to send a healthy snack to school with their child each day. Healthy snacks help children stay focused and energized throughout the school day. They also support learning, growth, and overall wellness. We kindly ask that snacks be nutritious and low in sugar, helping us maintain a positive learning environment for all students.

Here are a few healthy snack suggestions:

  • Fresh fruits (apple slices, grapes, bananas)
  • Vegetables (baby carrots, cucumber slices, cherry tomatoes)
  • Whole grain crackers
  • Cheese sticks
  • Yogurt
  • Unsweetened applesauce
  • Rice cakes
  • Hummus with veggie sticks

Please avoid snacks that are high in sugar- candy, soda, chips. If your child has any allergies or dietary needs, please send snacks that work best for them.

Thank you for your support in helping us create a healthy school environment.

Teacher Appreciation Week is May 4th-10th.

It is a week to honor teachers’ unwavering dedication, not only to academic excellence but also to nurturing faith, compassion, and strong moral values. Our staff serves as role models, guiding students with love, patience, and a deep sense of purpose rooted in faith, helping our students grow not only academically but spiritually. Each day, they help form a community where spiritual growth and learning go hand in hand. We are truly blessed to have dedicated teachers on our staff willing to go the extra mile for our students. Please pray that God will bless them abundantly for their service and devotion to the mission of Catholic Education.
