Superintendent Karen Solise and Principal Kelly Haile.

The topic of the meeting is

MAP Scores: How to read them and what do they mean.

This informal gathering is also an opportunity for parents and community members to learn about important things happening in the district, ask questions, share ideas and feedback.

We hope to see you there!

We Need You (To Be an APS Substitute Teacher)!

We are always looking for reliable, available substitute teachers; they are the unsung heroes of the school! Substitutes are talented individuals who are always ready to provide help and coverage when needed most. One of the benefits of being a substitute teacher is that you can always say ‘no’ to a call; of course we hope you say ‘yes’. In a way, this is like getting to make your own schedule; so you can keep flexible hours.

We need several items to complete the process (as it is basically the same as hiring any new employee). But don’t be afraid, we will make it as easy as possible.

If you are interested, please reach out to Deanna Taylor at to submit your application.

We can’t wait for YOU to join the APS team!

Check out the latest updates to the APS Library! We have added a monthly read aloud list under Parent Resources in addition to some news about the upcoming Scholastic Book Fair in November.

Also, thank you for the fantastic response to the Birthday Book Club! We have purchased over 50 new books for students to enjoy!

We will celebrate our first group of birthdays for July/August/September on Tuesday, September 26 at 7:15 a.m. in the library (light breakfast will be served).

Keep an eye out for updates to our library Sign-Up Genius.

Thank you for supporting the APS Library!

Anchorage High School Fair is Next Week!

 September 21, 6:00 p.m.

APTA Needs YOUR Help to Reach Its Fundraising Goals!

  • A holiday gift given at Thanksgiving
  • Staff Appreciation Week gifts
  • Small treats throughout the school year
