Children's Christmas Service
This year's children's Christmas service (originally scheduled for Wednesday, December 16) will look a bit different. Instead of having an in-person large gathering, St. Paul plans to premier a video recording of the service. Children will be practicing their parts within each classroom. In a couple weeks, each classroom will record their portion in church. Pastor Matyas and Mr. Schultz have graciously volunteered to use their tech skills to turn this into a masterful video presentation to be released online. Look for more details from your child's teacher about the recording date so that your child dresses appropriately to school. We will still have Advent worship services on Wednesdays at 3:15 & 6:30 p.m. during December, but there is no in-person Children's Christmas service this year.
Thanksgiving Donations - Nonperishable Goods
The school chapel offerings for November 23 will go to a local food bank. Instead of a monetary offering, please send in nonperishable food items. Please give generously to this cause in thanks to our Lord who has blessed us accordingly! May God continue to bless you throughout the coming holidays and the new year.
Dent Family Go Fund Me
A Go Fund Me page has been set up to gather donations for our 1st & 2nd Grade teacher, Andrea Dent, and her family. Please pray for them and for Andrea’s continued healing.

Holly Jolly Christmas Store - Donations Needed
Please drop off donations by Sunday, December 6. Thank you!
Christmas Is Coming! Buy Scrip Gift Cards!
Get started on your Christmas shopping and participate in our Scrip fundraiser by purchasing gift cards from us! Please contact the school office to see what cards are in stock and to arrange payment (cash or check) and pick up. Deadline for special requests (e.g. large quantities) is Friday, December 11 to ensure orders arrive before Christmas.
St. Paul Hot Lunch
Thank you to all who have continued to support the Hot Lunch program. It certainly has been a help as we face an interesting year!! All meals are served in takeout containers this year which has been an unexpected added expense to the program. Due to COVID we no longer are doing the Adopt a Salad Bar program, but we do have needs for gift cards or cash donations to help offset the cost of these additional items that we need to purchase. Walmart, Sam’s, Meijer gift cards or cash donations would be greatly appreciated. They can be labeled Hot Lunch and put in the offering basket at church, sent to school with a student or put in the specially marked box (formerly construction worker snack collection) in the back of church. If you have any questions please call Heidi at school 684-4450. Thank you again for your ongoing support of this ministry!!.

Tips for Coping with Strong Feelings Related to COVID-19
Remember that distress, anxiety, fear, and strong emotions are normal in times of distress or crisis. Remind yourself and others that these feelings will fade.
Things to Do:
  • Learn how you can protect yourself from COVID-19.
  • Educate yourself on how to properly clean your home.
  • Make time to relax and unwind.
  • Get outside and go for a walk.
  • Connect with family and friends via phone calls, text, video chat, or face time.
  • Keep participating in hobbies/activities that do not involve close contact with others.
  • Incorporate stretching or meditating into your daily routine.
  • Take deep breaths when you feel overwhelmed.
  • Discuss your concerns with others.
Outside Recess Volunteers Needed
We are looking for helpers Monday-Friday from 11:30 a.m.- 1:05 p.m. (4 recess periods since classrooms are separated) for outside recess. Volunteers will be particularly helpful once cold weather arrives and children need assistance from classroom teachers as they dress in their winter gear. As a recess helper, your outdoor supervision will allow children to go outside once they're dressed. We're hoping to set a recess volunteer schedule now so that everyone gets familiar with this year's routines before the cold weather comes. As in the past, a $5/day credit can be applied to your family's account. Please let Mr. Lustila or the school office know if you are willing to help. Thank you!
Bring in $1.00 or $5.00 or more!
Mrs. Shasta Duffey will have Saving Stamps from Church Extension Fund (CEF) available to purchase (from $1 to $5 to $10) this Monday morning at 7:30-7:55 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran School. What a great way to teach kids how to save money!
